Thank you to all those who visited our booth at the 2012 Country Explosion held in the Uintah Basin (Vernal/Jensen, Utah), over this last weekend (Aug. 16-18). We were proud to help sponsor this growing event in its second year. The lineup of talented artists was impressive (we especially enjoyed the performance by The Outlaws), the stage (sponsored by the generous Bill Zimmerman of Zeco) and sound system were very professional and appealing, and word is catching on that this is a must-see show. We especially thank the main sponsor, Rebel Bail Bonds, and our friends at KLCY 105.5 radio, for inviting us to share a part in making this event happen. Their clever marketing ideas and friendly, helpful staff were everywhere spicing up the event. Despite a little rain and wind on Friday and super heat on Saturday, many people defied the elements anyway to participate in the fun event. Luckily, we were placed between a snow cone vendor (super helpful and friendly Snow Biz owner Scott Rasmussen) and a big water tank filled with colorful human hamster balls (see them at http://hogoballs.com). Fewer people braved our drunk goggles this time, but our “Be Smart and Stay Safe” message on our free can coolers was a big hit!
It was great meeting all our new friends from the Festival of Flavors and Brewfest in Brian Head, Utah, over the weekend of August 10th & 11th. Continuous live music, a beautiful location, and an assortment of excellent wine and beer vendors made the beerfest event a big hit. For the second year in a row, the event was well attended by guests from both Utah and Nevada. Our booth, right at the entrance of the event, was very popular, and we were able to provide a lot of good information for the attendees. Many folks bravely donned our simulated 0.08 drunk goggles to try to perform a modified version of the walk-and-turn field sobriety test. Our message of “Be Smart and Stay Safe” and “An Arrest Is Not a Conviction, Don’t Let It Become One!” went out on our many free giveaway items. We thank Mark Cleveland of Wasatch & Squatters Brewery for welcoming us and showing us around, as well as the organizers of the event (namely, Linda and Kyrsten of DoubleTree and Cedar Breaks Lodge) who worked hard to make it a big draw. We hope to continue sponsoring this fine event!
