Speed skater Kyle Carr got a little help from his friends at Schatz, Anderson & Associates recently when the firm was able to join others in helping sponsor his trip to the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games. Many people don’t know that most American Olympians must find private money to get them to the Games, and it’s not a cheap trip! We at SAA are proud to help Kyle, a long-time friend of the firm, go represent our country in this exciting, fast-paced, and very technical sport.
Kyle, hailing originally from Philadelphia, PA, moved to Utah two years ago to train in the world-class Olympic facilities built for the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympic Games with some of America’s best speed skaters.
A soft-spoken, humble, charismatic man, Carr is taller than you might expect a world-class speed skater to be, but he’s lean and fit and feels confident and ready to tackle this dream. He’s had a love of the speed skating sport since a very early age and has worked hard his whole life for the opportunity to compete in a Winter Olympics. He’s also had the tireless support of loved ones throughout his journey.
Kyle’s one dream and goal all these years, to be an Olympian, has now come true! He made the United States of America’s 2014 Winter Olympic team during the Olympic trials in January and has been in Russia preparing for the Games for the last couple of weeks. Kyle joins other American speed skaters on the men’s relay team, scheduled to race on the 13th and the 21st of February.
We’ll be cheering for you, Kyle! Go Team USA! Go Team CARR!
