Experienced Utah Criminal Defense and DUI Attorney

Utah’s Third Board Certified Attorney in DUI Defense by the National College of DUI Defense.

Josh Egan earned his law degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law (Arizona State University) in 2012. In Arizona, Josh worked for the two largest criminal prosecution organizations in the state. As a prosecutor, he obtained criminal law experience early on in his education and career, working domestic violence, assault, theft, drug possession, and misdemeanor DUI cases out of one of the highest volume justice courts in the Phoenix area.

Josh brings a former prosecutor’s perspective when preparing an aggressive defense for his clients. To this end, Josh sought training from former law enforcement. He is a graduate of NHTSA’s Impaired Driving Training and the Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement courses.

Josh is also a qualified instructor of the NHTSA DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Test curriculum. He has co-instructed the course with former law enforcement in multiple states.

Josh is a graduate of the National College of DUI Defense’ Serious Science program, exhibiting tremendous commitment to understanding the science underlying DUI matters.

Josh is frequently consulted during Utah’s legislative session to provide perspective regarding changes to DUI law.

He recently served as a member of the 2024 Adult Guidelines Subcomittee advising on sentencing guidelines for serious DUI offenses.

Josh is licensed to practice law in both federal and state courts in Utah and Arizona.
